                                 BOARD CHANGES


Trevor Bonner CBE, Chairman of Avon Rubber p.l.c. will step down as Chairman and
retire from the Board following the Company's Annual General Meeting in January
2007.

His successor is The Rt.Hon. Sir Richard Needham who will be appointed as a
Non-Executive Director and Chairman of Avon Rubber with effect from 26 January
2007.

Trevor joined the Board of Avon Rubber in 1994 and became Chairman in February
2001. He was formerly an Executive Director of GKN plc and a former President of
both the Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders and CLEPA (the European
Association of Automotive Suppliers).

Terry Stead, Chief Executive of Avon Rubber p.l.c. said, 'Trevor has been able
to combine his experience with a large organisation such as GKN and the needs of
Avon. His experience and wisdom have been invaluable. He has actively helped to
restructure the Group including close involvement in the disposal of the
Automotive business. The Board would like to thank him for his excellent
contribution and wish him well for the future.

At the same time, we welcome Sir Richard to the Board. His diverse experience
gained in industry over a number of years, particularly in manufacturing,
together with his deep knowledge of Government and its interface with trade and
industry will, we believe, contribute significantly to Avon's growth prospects,
particularly in respiratory protection.'

Since leaving politics, Sir Richard Needham, a former Trade Minister, has been a
Director of GEC p.l.c., Meggitt p.l.c. and is currently Vice Chairman of NEC
Europe. He has been on the Board of Dyson Ltd for over 11 years, where at
present he is the Independent, Commercial and International Director.

In accordance with paragraph 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules, it is confirmed that
there are no additional details to be disclosed in relation to Sir Richard
Needham.
