Letter to RNS

On 9 April 2003, 130 ordinary shares of £1 each in the Company were transferred
by Avon Rubber Quest Limited, as Trustee of the Avon Rubber Qualifying Employee
Share Ownership Trust to satisfy options exercised by an employee under the
Company's Sharesave Option Scheme 2002.  As a result of the transfer, the 
Executive Directors below, who are beneficiaries of the Trust, technically 
ceased to have an interest in the 130 ordinary shares of £1 each in the Company.
