SENIOR MANAGEMENT CHANGES AT AVON RUBBER p.l.c.
Avon Rubber p.l.c. announces the following appointments and
changes in responsibility to sharpen the focus on improving the
performance of its core Automotive and Technical Products
activities.
Leland J. Richards (age 37), President of Avon Rubber &
Plastics, Inc. and head of Avon's North American Automotive
operations, will join the Board as an Executive Director.
Steve Stone, who has been an Executive Director since 1995,
will assume responsibility for the core Technical Products
activities in the UK, France and North America. He will retain
responsibility for the Westbury, UK Mixing Factory and the
Materials Development Centre.
Roger Hunt, who has been an Executive Director since 1997 will,
as Director Corporate Development, retain responsibility for
the Joint Services General Purpose Mask Programme for the US
Department of Defense and operational responsibility for Bell-
Avon Inc., Avon Pacer Inc. and Avon Technical Products
Cadillac, in addition to leading corporate acquisition and
disposal activities.
The above changes to Board responsibilities are effective from
4 September 2001
Detlev Bartels (age 46) joined the company as Director of
European Automotive operations on 1 September 2001. Detlev
joins us from Dura Automotive Systems Inc., where he was
responsible for the global business operations for the Gear
Shift Division.
Simon Wright (age 40) has accepted the position of Director
Human Resources for Avon Rubber p.l.c. and will join the Group
in October 2001 from Mitsubishi Corporation (Princes Group)
where he was Group Director of Human Resources.
Mr. Bartels and Mr. Wright will report to the Chief Executive,
Steve Willcox.
