Additional $19m order from US Department of Defense (DoD) for Avon's world leading M50 gas mask

Avon has received a further award under our existing 10 year sole source requirements contract with the US DoD for

the supply of M50 JSGPM masks valued at approximately $19m and for delivery in our 2012 financial year.

The award is in addition to the 100,000 mask systems per annum we currently supply under the fixed portion of the

full rate production contract.

Avon has already delivered over 600,000 mask systems to the DoD under this contract. The M50 JSGPM mask will in

time replace all existing masks within the four services of the US armed forces.

Commenting on the news, Peter Slabbert, Chief Executive said: "This award demonstrates the accelerating demand for our world leading product and gives us excellent revenue visibility against this contract for 2012.''

Avon will release its Preliminary Statement in respect of the year ending 30 September 2011 on Wednesday 23rd

November 2011.
