New Division

Axis Intermodal PLC 06 December 2007 Axis Intermodal plc ('Axis Intermodal' or the 'Company') New marine container rental division Axis Intermodal, the European transport equipment contract hire group, is pleased to announce the launch of a new marine container division Sea Axis, which has been established to focus on the specialist marine container leasing market and to market the patented Seacell2 cellular pallet wide container and other special containers such as refrigerated and flat rack containers. Sea Axis has been granted one of only two global licenses to lease a new design of marine freight container, the Seacell2, which is stronger and less prone to damage compared to normal containers. In addition, due to its size, Seacell2 offers greater internal capacity such that 10,000 Euro pallets will require 167 40 foot Seacell2 containers rather than 200 standard 40 foot containers, resulting in lower transport costs and a notable reduction in carbon dioxide per pallet. In addition to the Seacell2, Sea Axis will also lease the SeaFresh 40 foot and 45 foot reefer refrigerated containers and SeaRack 40 foot flatracks. Seacell2 is fully intermodal and can therefore be introduced into any service without operational problems. Furthermore, Seacell2 offers shippers and manufacturers the ability to reduce freight bills as more cargo is carried in each Seacell2. The first 3000 containers have been ordered and are scheduled for delivery globally during the first and second quarters of 2008 to clients. The funding of the container equipment will be through the Company's German KG partners. Robert Montague, Chief Executive of Axis Intermodal, commented: 'Our Sea Axis division and the Seacell2 range of containers are set to revolutionise the way that freight is transported within Europe and the Far East, providing greater efficiency in marine freight transport. With increasing awareness throughout the industry about the need to cut emissions that contribute towards climate change, the time is right to launch more efficient containers such as the Seacell2.
