Share Transactions - Principal Investment Holdings Limited
B.P. Marsh & Partners Plc (AIM: BPM), a niche venture capital provider to early
stage financial services businesses, announces that, on 10th November 2006, the
Company purchased an additional 9,900 ordinary shares in Principal Investment
Holdings Limited ('Principal') for a consideration of £149,265. This purchase
resulted largely from the Company's exercise of its pre-emption rights on the
sale of shares by a retiring executive at Principal. Following dilution of its
previously disclosed interest in Principal from 19.12% to 18.46% due to the
exercise of some employee share options, as a result this transaction BP Marsh
has increased its interest in the company to 18.96%.
Principal is a predominantly discretionary fund manager with both private and
institutional clients. BP Marsh made its first investment in Principal in
December 1999, investing a total of £2,651,956 over the intervening years
bringing the Company's total investment to date to £2,810,221. As at 31 July
2006, its holding in Principal was valued at £7,240,000.
Commenting on the purchase, Brian Marsh OBE, Chairman of BP Marsh, said:
'Principal Investment Holdings has been making excellent progress in
consolidating and building this extremely successful business in the fund
management field with funds under management exceeding £920m. We are delighted
to have been able to acquire these additional shares, largely from a retiring
executive of the company and look forward to any similar opportunities in the
future.'
