                          New Appointment to the Board


Babcock International Group PLC, the support services group, is pleased to
announce that Mr Peter Rogers will join the company on 1 June as Chief Operating
Officer and will be an executive director of the Group.

He was previously Deputy Chief Executive of Acordis Ltd and formerly a main
board director of Courtaulds plc. In his early career he worked for the Ford
Motor Company Ltd.

Peter has managed a broad range of operations within the Courtaulds Group
ranging from small service orientated to large scale process businesses.
