Re: Board Appointment

The Board of Babcock International Group PLC ('Babcock') announces, in
accordance with paragraphs 16.7, 16.8 and 16.8A of The Listing Rules, that at
its meeting held on 13 June 2002 it formally appointed Mr Peter Rogers an
executive director of Babcock.  Mr Rogers becomes Babcock's Chief Operating
Officer.

In accordance with the disclosure requirements of paragraph 16.4;

Mr Rogers is a former director of Courtaulds PLC until 1998,  Acordis UK until
2001 and Akzo Nobel UK Ltd until 1999.

No information is required to be disclosed under paragraph 6.F. 2(b) to (g).
