                          Specialist Support Services Group

                                  Wins £40m Contract



Babcock International Group PLC, one of the UK's leading suppliers of support
services to the Armed Forces, has today confirmed that it has won an important
contract to provide specialist support services to the Royal Air Force at RAF
Lynham. The contract, valued in total at in excess of £40million, covers the
provision of C130 Hercules aircraft maintenance and infrastructure services to
the RAF station until 31 March 2005 with options taking the contract to 2007.
The HCS division of Babcock secured the contract following a keen competition.
Babcock HCS which currently provides similar service to RAF Lynham was
acquired by Babcock from Hunting PLC earlier this year.

Gordon Campbell, chairman of Babcock, stated:-
