            Babcock Wins Major Maintenance Contract In South Africa


Babcock International Group PLC, the support services company, is pleased to
announce that its subsidiary, Babcock Africa Limited, has secured a contract
with Eskom, the leading South African electricity company, for maintenance
services at its power stations across South Africa. The contract, which renews
and extends an existing arrangement, is valued at approximately £13m over a
period of three years starting immediately.
