Contract Wins
Following its success in securing sole bidder status through the HOLDFAST
Consortium for the £1.0 billion Royal School of Military Engineering PFI,
Babcock International PLC, the support services company, announces today that it
has secured additional contract wins or extensions to a value of some £11
million during March 2003.
• A five year contract for the management of accommodation of contractor
personnel involved in the construction of Terminal 5 at Heathrow.
• A two year extension to the contract for provision of school
infrastructure services at Ealing.
• A one year, with four option years, contract for the management of
NATO camps in Kosovo. This was won by a joint venture with DynCorp
International (a CSC company) under the name of Dyncorp-Hiberna.
• Services to the US army in Afghanistan.
The latter two are the first contracts Babcock has succeeded in winning for
services to either NATO or the US military.
The Company will be announcing its preliminary results for the year ending 31
March 2003 in early June and is pleased to confirm that it has had an
encouraging end to the year. The contract wins announced today further
strengthen the Company's outlook for the new financial year.
