Board Appointment at Babcock International Group PLC

The Board of Babcock International Group PLC ('Babcock') announces, in 
accordance with paragraphs 16.7, 16.8 and 16.8A of The Listing Rules, that at 
its meeting held on 25 January 2002 it formally appointed Mr William Tame an 
executive director of Babcock. Mr Tame becomes Babcock's Group Finance Director.

In accordance with the disclosure requirements of paragraph 16.4 (a), Mr Tame is 
a former director of Scapa Group PLC.

No information is required to be disclosed under paragraph 6.F.2(b) to (g).

Mr Tame notified Babcock, on his appointment, of his interest in the following
