BABCOCK INTERNATIONAL ANNOUNCES BOARD CHANGES
Babcock International Group PLC, the support services company, announces today
that Peter Rogers will become Chief Executive Officer on 1 August 2003. Gordon
Campbell, currently Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, will continue as
Chairman on a part-time basis.
Commenting on the Board changes Gordon Campbell said:
'Peter's appointment as Chief Executive Officer was envisaged when he joined the
company in June 2002 and recognises his considerable achievement in his role as
Chief Operating Officer. I am confident that Peter is ideally qualified to
continue to drive Babcock forward as a leading Support Services company.'

Gordon Campbell joined Babcock in October 2000. He is a Cambridge University
Engineering graduate, a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and a former
President of the Institution of Chemical Engineers. He joined Courtaulds
Research in 1968 and held a variety of executive positions within the Courtaulds
Group, joining the Board in 1987. Gordon became Deputy Chief Executive of
Courtaulds Group in 1994 and Group Chief Executive in 1996. Following the sale
of Courtaulds plc in July 1998, he became Chairman of the Acordis Group. He is
also a non-executive director of British Nuclear Fuels Ltd.
Peter Rogers joined Babcock in June 2002 as Chief Operating Officer and an
executive director of the Group. Peter studied at Wymondham College in Norfolk,
before graduating from the University of Manchester as a Chartered Accountant.
Before joining Babcock, he was Deputy Chief Executive of Acordis Ltd, prior to
which he was a main board director of Courtaulds plc. In his early career he
worked for the Ford Motor Company Ltd. Peter has managed a broad range of
operations within the Courtaulds Group ranging from small service orientated to
large scale process businesses.
