Mr Turner's retirement is part of a programme of change amongst The Group's Non-Executive directors, a number of whom have held their positions for long periods by the standards of the Higgs recommendations on Board composition. The programme of change amongst the Group's Non-Executive directors will be carried out progressively and in a controlled manner over the next few years, so that the Group does not lose the substantial benefit of their experience. Gordon Campbell, Chairman, said: 'Mike has made an outstanding contribution during his nine years as a Non-Executive director of Babcock.
