MIKE TURNER RETIRING AS NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Babcock International Group PLC, the support services company, announces that Mr
Mike Turner, one of its Non-Executive directors, having served for nine years as
a director of the Company, will be retiring from the Board with effect from 31st
December 2005.
Mr Turner's retirement is part of a programme of change amongst The Group's
Non-Executive directors, a number of whom have held their positions for long
periods by the standards of the Higgs recommendations on Board composition. The
programme of change amongst the Group's Non-Executive directors will be carried
out progressively and in a controlled manner over the next few years, so that
the Group does not lose the substantial benefit of their experience.
Gordon Campbell, Chairman, said:
'Mike has made an outstanding contribution during his nine years as a
Non-Executive director of Babcock. He has had a major input into our success,
both in terms of the group's strategic direction and its delivery of that
strategy.'
