The contract, which is valued at approximately £350m, will be for a period of five years with an option for a further five years. Commodore John Borley, Director Naval Base Clyde, in placing the contract with Babcock Naval Services said: 'Today marks another major milestone in the history of the Clyde Naval Base. I am confident that the partnering contract signed with Babcock Naval Services will enable the base not only to maintain but even to improve the high standard of support that the Royal Navy has rightly come to expect from us'. Accepting the contract on behalf of Babcock Naval Services, John Howie, Managing Director said: 'We are delighted that we have been able to secure this prestigious contract from the Ministry of Defence, and look forward to building a long term successful partnering relationship with the Naval Base.
