BABCOCK WINS BAA HEATHROW TERMINAL 5 CONTRACT

Babcock International Group PLC ('Babcock'), the support services company,
announces that it has been selected by AMEC to fulfil part of the requirement to
design and supply Building Services Modules for the London Heathrow Terminal 5
development by BAA.

The project, with a value of more than £13m to Babcock, consists of 589 modules
for Concourse A, one of the main passenger concourses at Terminal 5.  The
modules will be designed and built over the next 18 months at Babcock's Rosyth
facility and will secure the jobs of up to 200 workers.

Peter Rogers, Babcock chief executive, said:

'This is the first time that Babcock has bid on a civil engineering project of
this type and the award of this contract demonstrates the group's ability to
succeed in this sophisticated engineering environment.  It is excellent news for
our workforce at Rosyth and highlights our ability to win new business for this
facility.

'This contract win comes hard on the heels of our success in securing the £65m,
five-year multi-activity contract at RAF Valley for the Ministry of Defence,
which was announced three weeks ago.'
