Babcock wins new contracts worth £35m

Babcock International Group PLC, the support services company, today confirms
the securing of two contracts for the maintenance and support of the RAF's
flight simulators.



The first contract for £5m over 5 years is directly with the Ministry of
Defence.  The second contract which is for engineering and logistic support on 8
military sites is for some £30m over a similar period with Thales Training and
Simulation (Merlin) Ltd, who will be providing instructors and ongoing design
support.  These contracts replace and extend work already carried out by Babcock
in servicing the RAF's simulators.  These contracts further highlight Babcock's
position in the forefront of the growing UK market for defence support services.
