BRITISH AEROSPACE PLC CHANGES ITS NAME TO BAE SYSTEMS PLC


Having gained the necessary shareholder approval at yesterday's Annual General
Meeting, British Aerospace plc has today changed its name to BAE SYSTEMS plc. 
The name change reflects the previously announced re-branding of the company
following the merger between British Aerospace and the Marconi Electronic
Systems business at the end of last year.

All the other resolutions put to ordinary shareholders at the Annual General
Meeting and to Preference shareholders at the General Meeting of Preference
Shareholders, also held yesterday, were passed.
