BAE SYSTEMS plc announces the appointment of Chris Geoghegan to the Board of
Directors with effect from today. He retains his current position as Chief
Operating Officer with executive responsibility for the Company's International
Partnerships, Avionics, Aerostructures, Aircraft Services, corporate Ventures
and RO Defence businesses.

Mr Geoghegan has no details to disclose under paragraphs 16.4(a) and 6.F.2(b) to
(g) of the Listing Rules.
