Appointment of Non-Executive Director
The Board of BAE Systems plc has today appointed Paul Anderson as a non-executive director of the Company to provide additional international, strategic expertise as part of its continued business growth plan.
Paul Anderson has an extensive background in mergers and acquisitions within the natural resources and energy industry. He retired as Chairman of Spectra Energy Corporation in May 2009 and currently holds a non-executive director position at the company. He is also a former Chief Executive Officer of BHP Billiton Plc and former Chairman of Duke Energy Corporation.

He has an exceptional track record of performance typified by his leadership of Spectra Energy, Duke Energy and BHP Billiton. Paul Anderson started his career at Boeing and then Ford Motor Company, holding various positions before joining PanEnergy. Over the ensuing years, he served in various leadership roles within PanEnergy, culminating in becoming its Chairman, President, and CEO.
He is currently a non-executive director of BHP Billiton Plc and is a former non-executive director of Qantas Airways Limited. Paul Anderson holds a bachelor's of science in mechanical engineering from the University of Washington and a master's of business administration from Stanford University.
He has no details to disclose under paragraph 9.6.13 of The Listing Rules.
