Paris Air Show

BAE SYSTEMS PLC 13 June 2003 BAE SYSTEMS at the Paris Air Show 13 June BAE Systems will be participating in the Paris Air Show at Le Bourget through the week commencing 15 June 2003. As in previous years, the company will be exhibiting its systems, defence and aerospace capabilities with static and flying display participation. Trading in the year to-date has remained consistent with earlier guidance. The underlying trading performance for the company's defence businesses in 2003 is expected to remain broadly in line with that for 2002 before taking account of the exceptional charges in 2002 for the Nimrod and Astute contracts. The recent selection of the company as prime contractor for the UK's new generation aircraft carrier programme, CVF, was an important business win and the company's bid to supply the Hawk aircraft to meet the UK's Advanced Jet Trainer requirement is an important prospective programme. The company has a leading systems, defence and aerospace position in the UK and wider European market and is established as a major constituent of the US defence industry. BAE Systems strategy remains unchanged. Enhancing operational performance remains a key priority. BAE Systems will continue to seek growth opportunities principally focused on the North American market and in customer support.
