BAE SYSTEMS Appoints Two New Non-Executive Directors

The Board of BAE SYSTEMS has today appointed Professor Sue Birley and Paolo
Scaroni non-executive directors of the company.  Professor Birley is Professor
of Entrepreneurship at Imperial College, London and was until recently a
non-executive director of National Westminster Bank plc.  Mr Scaroni is Group
Chief Executive of Pilkington plc and is a past non-executive director of
Burmah Castrol plc.

Commenting on these appointments Sir Richard Evans, Chairman BAE SYSTEMS plc,
said:  'Prof Birley and Mr Scaroni each bring a diversity of background that
will broaden the experience and expertise within the Board.'
