The following amendment has been made to the Transaction in Own Shares announcement released on 7 April at 17:37 under RNS No 8595J.

Number of ordinary shares purchased was 1,450,000 at 369.35p, and not 1,600,000 shares at 369.362p as previously stated. Following the purchase of these shares, BAE Systems plc holds 78,516,408 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 3,508,211,878 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).

BAE Systems plc announces that it has purchased the following number of its ordinary shares of 2.5p each via The Royal Bank of Scotland NV (London Branch). BAE Systems plc intends to hold the purchased shares in treasury.

Highest price paid per share:                                   370.8p

Lowest price paid per share:                                    368.9p

Volume weighted average price paid per share:         369.35p

Following the purchase of these shares, BAE Systems plc holds 78,516,408 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 3,508,211,878 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
