Appointment of Directors
The Board of Witan Pacific Investment Trust PLC (the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of two new non-executive directors with effect from 15 July 2014: Susan Platts-Martin and Andrew Robson. These appointments follow a formal search process undertaken as part of the Company's succession planning.
Susan Platts-Martin brings to the Board considerable knowledge of investment companies and investment management generally, having spent 26 years in a range of senior roles at Fidelity Worldwide Investment, including several as the Head of investment trusts. She is a qualified chartered accountant, with knowledge of investment trust taxation, accounting and wider regulatory and custodial matters. She also has experience of investment trust marketing and development, and of the broader investment funds market, both in the UK and in Europe. Susan currently sits on the advisory board of the Barings Targeted Return Fund.
Andrew Robson is also a qualified accountant with over 15 years of corporate finance experience, including with Asian companies, gained at Robert Fleming & Co Limited and SG Hambros. He has considerable experience as a finance director and as chairman of audit committees, including those of four other investment companies, and has a business advisory practice. Andrew is expected to take over the role of Audit Committee Chairman of the Company in June 2015, when Alan Barber will retire. Andrew is currently non-executive director of Shires Income PLC, British Empire Securities and General Trust plc, JP Morgan Smaller Companies Investment Trust plc and Mobeus Income & Growth 4 VCT PLC. He was also a non-executive director of M&G Equity Investment Trust plc until April 2011.
The Company confirms that there are no further matters under UKLA Listing Rules LR 9.6.13(1) to LR 9.6.13(6) requiring disclosure.
