F&C PACIFIC INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

The Board of F&C Pacific Investment Trust PLC ('Pacific') announces that Charles
Brock has stepped down from his position as the lead fund manager for the
Company, with immediate effect. Charles has been the lead fund manager for
Pacific for the last 4 years.

F&C Management Limited ('F&C') will be appointing a new lead fund manager from
outside F&C. In the meantime, Tony Broccardo, F&C's Chief Investment Officer,
will take over the lead role, together with the other members of the Asia
Pacific team at F&C, until Charles' successor has been appointed.
