Purchase of own securities

The Board of the Company announces that it has today made a market purchase of

250,000 ordinary shares of twenty-five pence each in the capital of the Company

(SEDOL No.0365602), representing 0.36% of the current issued ordinary

share capital of the Company, for cancellation at a price of 169.4975 pence per

ordinary share.



Following cancellation, 70,146,851 ordinary shares in the Company will

remain in issue.
