Appointment of Additional Director

Schroder UK Growth Fund plc (the 'Company') is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Andrew Hutton as a non-executive Director of the Company with immediate effect. Andrew Hutton, 50, is an independent investment advisor and Director of A.J. Hutton Ltd.  Prior to setting up his own business in 2007, Andrew was Head of Investment Management at Coutts and subsequently joint-MD of RBS Asset Management. Previously, he worked with J.P. Morgan from 1979 to 1997 in London, Melbourne, New York and Singapore. 

In accordance with the Articles of Association, Andrew Hutton will be proposed for election at the Annual General Meeting to be held in 2009.

It is confirmed that there are no other details to be disclosed concerning Mr. Hutton under Listing Rule 9.6.13 R.
