On 6 December 2002, Mr I P Tyler, a director of the Company, exercised matured
options over 340 50p Ordinary Shares in the Company that were held under the
Company's Savings Related Share Option Scheme, having been granted on 6 October
1999.  The exercise price was 91p per 50p Ordinary Share.



Following this transaction, Mr Tyler holds 3,340 50p Ordinary Shares in the
Company and options over a total of 185,669 50p Ordinary Shares in the Company.
