On 28 August 2003, Mr A L P Rabin, a director of the Company, exercised matured
options over 4,772 50p Ordinary Shares in the Company that were held under the
Company's Savings Related Share Option Scheme, having been granted on 22 May
1998.  The exercise price was 120p per 50p Ordinary Share.

Following this transaction, Mr Rabin holds 22,272 50p Ordinary Shares in the
Company, and options over a total of 18,726 50p Ordinary Shares in the Company.

On 28 August 2003, Mr I P Tyler, a director of the Company, exercised matured
options over 3,671 50p Ordinary Shares in the Company that were held under the
Company's Savings Related Share Option Scheme, having been granted on 24 May
2000.  The exercise price was 76p per 50p Ordinary Share.

Following this transaction, Mr Tyler holds 66,623 50p Ordinary Shares in the
Company, and options over a total of 2,509 50p Ordinary Shares in the Company.
