On 4 May 2005, the following Directors of Balfour Beatty plc ('the Company')
were granted options over the Company's 50p Ordinary Shares under the Balfour
Beatty Savings Related Share Option Scheme 2001:

Mr P J L Zinkin: 687



All options were granted at an Exercise Price of 250.0p.



Mr Cohen and Mr Tyler have entered into 3 Year Savings Contracts; as a result,
their options are exercisable between 1 July 2008 and 31 December 2008.



Mr Rabin and Mr Zinkin have entered into 5 Year Savings Contracts; as a result,
their options are exercisable between 1 July 2010 and 31 December 2010.
