BICC plc
========
BICC, the construction, engineering and services group, announces today that
Ian Tyler, currently Finance Director of Balfour Beatty Ltd, which now
accounts for some 90% of the Group's turnover, is to succeed Ron Henderson as
Finance Director of BICC with effect from 15 October.
He will be appointed to the BICC Board at its next meeting on 5 October.
Ian Tyler is 39 and has been Finance Director of Balfour Beatty Ltd since
1996. During that time, Balfour Beatty's profits have grown by over 300%. He
was formerly Finance Director of ARC Ltd, a subsidiary of Hanson plc.
BICC Chairman, Viscount Weir, commenting today, said:
'Ron Henderson has been Finance Director of BICC since 1990. He was, before
that, Finance Director of Balfour Beatty for three years. He has made a most
valuable contribution to the Group throughout this period and particularly
during the recent extensive rationalisation and reorganisation which has
transformed the Group. He leaves with our thanks and best wishes.'
The change reflects the simplified management structure which is appropriate
to the reduced range and complexity of operations resulting from the disposal
earlier this year of the Group's telecommunication and energy cables
businesses.
