BALFOUR BEATTY PLC
Balfour Beatty plc, the international engineering, construction and services
group, announces today that Paul Lester, one of three Group Managing Directors
who report to Chief Executive, Mike Welton, is to leave the company to take up
the position of Chief Executive at Vosper Thorneycroft plc with effect from 1
July 2002. Paul Lester has been responsible for the Group's UK Building,
Building Management and Services sector since he joined Balfour Beatty from
Graseby plc in 1997.
The businesses which currently report to Paul Lester will report on an interim
basis directly to Group Finance Director, Ian Tyler.
Commenting today, Chief Executive, Mike Welton, said: 'Paul Lester has done a
first-class job here over the last five years and leaves for his important new
post with our congratulations, best wishes and thanks.'
