NEW DIRECTOR
Balfour Beatty, the international engineering, construction and services group,
announces today that Dr Hans Christoph von Rohr has joined the Board as a
non-executive Director in succession to Udo Stark who has retired from the Board
due to other business commitments.
Dr von Rohr is chairman of the German Institute for Market Economy and
Competition and a supervisory board member of several corporations. Previously
he was chairman of the Industrial Investment Council and also CEO of the German
manufacturing and trading group, Klockner-Werke AG.
Viscount Weir, who was succeeded in May as Chairman of Balfour Beatty by Sir
David John, has accepted an invitation to become Honorary President of the
company extended to him in recognition of his unfailing commitment and
dedication to the company in his 26 years on the Board.
