NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS
=======================
Balfour Beatty plc announces today that Steven Marshall is to join the Main
Board as a non-executive Director with effect from 1 November 2005. Mr Marshall,
who is 48, is currently non-executive Chairman of Delta plc and also a
non-executive director of Southern Water.
He was Executive Chairman of Queens' Moat Houses plc until November 2004, having
been Finance Director and then Chief Executive of Railtrack Group plc between
1999 and 2002. Previously, he was Group Chief Executive of Thorn plc, having
joined as Finance Director in 1995. Prior to that, he held senior management
positions at Grand Metropolitan plc, Parkdale Holdings plc and Burton Group plc.
Balfour Beatty also announces today that Richard Delbridge is to retire as a
non-executive Director of the company with effect from 31 December 2005. He will
be succeeded by Mr Marshall as Chairman of the Group Audit Committee.
Commenting on these Board changes today, Balfour Beatty Chairman, Sir David
John, said:
