Balfour Beatty plc ('the Company') yesterday received notice from M & G
Investment Management Limited on behalf of Prudential plc ('Prudential') and
certain of its subsidiary companies that, following a change in Trustee and
Custodian, the registration details for some funds currently managed by
Prudential and certain of its subsidiary companies have changed from that
previously notified to the Company.  As a result, the names of the registered
holders that comprise Prudential's existing notifiable interest in the Company
have changed.



The aggregate material interest of Prudential comprises 14,785,698 50p Ordinary
Shares of the Company representing 3.49% of the Company's issued ordinary share
capital, which includes 14,708,206 50p Ordinary Shares of the Company
(representing 3.47% of the Company's issued ordinary share capital) in which its
subsidiary company, The Prudential Assurance Company Limited, is interested.



This announcement is being made as a result of Prudential's notification of a
change in the particulars relating to their existing notifiable interest, and
there has been no whole percentage change in Prudential's existing notifiable
interest.
