Having obtained all necessary authorizations therefor, BBVA announces that its
reverse subsidiary merger with Texas Regional Bancshares Inc. was consummated
today. The transaction was entered into and disclosed to the markets in June
2006, and represents a total investment of approximately $2.164 billion for
BBVA.
