Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, S.A. (BBVA), pursuant to the provisions of
article 82 of the Spanish Securities Market Act, proceeds by means of the
present document to notify the following:





RELEVANT EVENT





BBVA has agreed the appointment of Mr. Juan Asua Madariaga, as head of the '
Spain and Portugal Business Area', instead of Mr. Jaime Guardiola Romojaro, who
leaves the Group.



Mr. Xavier Argente Arino has been appointed head of the 'Spain Banking Business
Area', reporting to Mr. Juan Asua, and as member of the Management Committee.

media, is attached.
