'BBVA, S.A.', pursuant to the provisions of article 82 of the Spanish Securities
Market Act, proceeds by means of the present document to notify the following:


                               SIGNIFICANT EVENT



BANCO BILBAO VIZCAYA ARGENTARIA, S.A. has proceed, today, to sell its holdings
of 17,1% in VIDRALA, S.A., 3.592.508 shares, to several investors, at the price
of 12,25 euro per share, obtaining a surplus value of 19,3 million euro.


After this sale, BBVA doesn't hold any permanent interest in VIDRALA, S.A.
