GFB AND GFBBV-PROBURSA SIGN THE MERGER AND CAPITALIZATION PROJECT
The Grupo Financiero Bancomer and Grupo Financiero BBV-Probursa announced that
the Merger and Capitalization Project was subscribed on the 31st of March of
2000, which starts the formal procedure that have to lead to the merger and
capitalization of both financial groups, confirming the intention of the parties
initially expressed in the purpose letter, whose content was released on the
last 9th of March.
The plan is subject to the approval of the shareholders meetings of both
companies, and to the correspondent authorizations and will be concluded in a
maximum term of 180 days.
