Result of Meeting

The Board of Directors of Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, S.A. has approved the
schedule of the dividend payments to the shareholders for the year 2001, in the
meeting held today.

There will be three interim dividends that will be paid on 10 July 2001, 10
October 2001 and 10 January 2002.

In addition, the last dividend, subject to approval by the General Meeting of
Shareholders, will be paid on 10 April 2002.
