BANCO BILBAO VIZCAYA ARGENTARIA, S.A. informs that it is maintaining
conversations with Telefonica Moviles, S.A., Banco Santander Central Hispano,
S.A. and Airtel Movil, S.A., in order to set up a platform for the use of the
mobile telephone as a payment facility.

As soon as these conversations conclude, the public announcement will be done,
once notified the mandatory Relevant Event.
