Banco Santander Central Hispano SA (the 'Company') hereby announces the intended
cancellation of its secondary listing on the London Stock Exchange. The last day
of trading in its shares on the London Stock Exchange is expected to be on
Friday 11 July 2003. Following cancellation of the Company's secondary listing
in London, holders of the Company's shares will still be able to trade these
shares on the following stock exchanges: the four Spanish stock exchanges
(Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao and Valencia, on the Continuous Market), Buenos
Aires, Lisbon, Milan and New York (in the form of American Depository Shares).
