Banco Santander hereby announces that today, following a revision to its methodologies for rating banks and non-bank financial institutions, S&P Global Ratings has taken the following rating actions on Banco Santander:
• It has raised:
§ the long-term Issuer Credit Rating to 'A+' from 'A',
§ the long-term issue rating on all outstanding senior unsecured instruments to 'A+' from 'A', and
§ the long- and short-term Resolution Counterparty Rating to 'AA-/A-1+' from 'A+/A-1'; and
• It has modified the outlook from 'stable' to 'negative'.
