Bango welcomes new board member, confirms CFO appointment
Bango (AIM: BGO), the mobile commerce company, announces that on 1 January 2019 Nancy Cruickshank joined the Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director, to guide and support the expected rapid growth of Bango as it starts to exploit its data monetization technology and relationships. Bango also confirms that Carolyn Rand has now been appointed to the Board as permanent Chief Financial Officer, effective from 1 January 2019.
Nancy Cruickshank is on the executive team at Carlsberg. She manages its global digital transformation program, determining how this global brand gains maximum benefit from its data insights and deeper application of digital technologies to meet the needs of its customers.
Nancy brings highly relevant experience in online and mobile commerce to Bango. She drove the digital and mobile marketing strategy for Hearst Media Group. She was a NED for 8 years at Glam Media, and was responsible for digital M&A at Telegraph Media Group. Nancy was CEO at Weve, a data monetization business backed by the UK mobile network operators and on the supervisory board of Telecity group. She is currently a Non-Executive Director at leading Indian mobile entertainment company OnMobile Global Limited.
"I'm really excited by the Bango mission to expand from a highly successful payments platform to a broader commerce platform," commented Nancy Cruickshank. "Bango is uniquely positioned to enable much more effective monetization of payment data by developers and content owners, fuelling the growth of the huge app economy".
Nancy will join the remuneration committee and the data privacy committee.
Ray Anderson, CEO of Bango, said; "I am delighted to welcome Nancy to the Bango Board. Nancy's experience of the digital environment is highly relevant to our market strategy and business model. Nancy brings many skills to the board in support of the enhanced Bango commerce strategy."
Carolyn Rand joined Bango in October 2018 as interim CFO. Her strong track record of financial leadership with both public and private businesses is supplemented by highly relevant experience with brands that operate globally and with deep technology assets.
"This is one of the most exciting businesses I have been involved in" said Carolyn. "Having worked for 3 months with the executive team and board at Bango I'm really fired-up about the expanding opportunities in digital commerce that Bango is pioneering. I look forward to working with the Bango team and its global partners to deliver significant growth and profit in the years ahead".
