                             Director's Appointment



The Board of The Bankers Investment Trust PLC announces that, with immediate
effect, Mr Richard Killingbeck has been appointed to the Board.

Mr Killingbeck (41) has been involved in the financial services industry for 20
years, primarily as a fund manager and more latterly on the management side of
the business. In 1994 he joined Singer & Friedlander Investment Management and
was responsible for establishing the global specialist fund management desk. In
2001 he was appointed as Chief Executive of the investment management company,
whereupon he relinquished his day to day responsibilities for the management of
client portfolios.
