THE  BANKERS  INVESTMENT  TRUST  PLC  PAYS  THIRD  INTERIM
DIVIDEND FOR THE YEAR ENDING 31 OCTOBER 1999


The  Bankers  Investment Trust PLC has  declared  a  third
interim  dividend of 1.49p per ordinary share  net  (1998:
1.41p)  in  respect  of the year ending  31  October  1999
payable on 30 November 1999 to shareholders registered  on
29 October 1999. The Company's shares go ex-dividend on 25
October 1999.
