          Market Purchase of Company's Own Shares


Notification  is  given  that  pursuant  to  the  authority
granted  at an Extraordinary General Meeting of the Company
held  on  18  June  1999 and sanctioned at  Separate  Class
Meetings  on 18 June 1999 and 25 June 1999 respectively  to
make market purchases of the Company's own shares of 25p, a
market  purchase of 200,000 ordinary shares of 25p each  in
the  capital of the Company was made today at  a  price  of
293.25p per share.
