                        INVESTOR AND ANALYST SEMINAR

Barclays is today hosting an educational seminar for buy and sell side
analysts, hosted by Matthew Barrett.

The seminar will comprise presentations on Group risk management and
Barclays Capital.

The presentations will be available on the Barclays Investor Relations
website from this afternoon (www.investor.barclays.com).

In line with normal practice, Barclays will be issuing a trading update on
Tuesday 5th December prior to meeting analysts ahead of its close period.
