Baring Emerging Europe Trust PLC 4 December 2002 NOTICE OF CHANGE IN EXPECTED TIMETABLE FOR RECONSTRUCTION THE BARING EMERGING EUROPE TRUST PLC The Board of The Baring Emerging Europe Trust PLC (the 'Company') announces that there has been a change in the expected timetable for the reconstruction and voluntary winding up of the Company (the 'Scheme'). The circular sent to ordinary shareholders and warrantholders of the Company on 12 November 2002, containing details of the Scheme, states that it was expected that the listing of and dealings in ordinary shares would be suspended at the close of business on 3 December 2002; it is now expected that they will be suspended at 8.00 a.m. on 5 December 2002. The ordinary share register and the warrant register of the Company are now expected to close, and ordinary shares and warrants are expected to be disabled in CREST, at 5.00 p.m. on 4 December 2002, not at 5.00 p.m. on 3 December 2002 as stated in the circular. The expected timetable for the Scheme as set out in the circular remains otherwise unchanged.
