                                 AGM Statement

A.G.BARR p.l.c. the Scottish based manufacturer of soft drinks including the
popular Irn-Bru, Tizer and Orangina brands, holds its Annual General Meeting
today in Glasgow - the 100th since the Company's formation in 1904.

Chairman, Robin Barr, will report that following the positive financial
performance during the year to end January 2004, the Company has continued to
perform ahead of stretching targets in the first three months of the current
year and given reasonable summer weather expects another year of good progress.
